Amarendra, thanks for reviving old memories, with Patrani songs videos. I have a distant memory of having listened to these songs on Radio Ceylon, when a Radio came to our house, for the first time. I was a 10 year old boy then, just introduced to Hindi.
Patrani was a “No male singer song” film. It had 10 songs in all. Apart from the songs of Shailendra that you mentioned, it had 5 more songs from Hasrat. 1- Arre koii aao rii… Lata, Meena & Usha, 2- Rangarangili pagiyan baandhen… Lara & Chorus, 3- Paavan ganga sar par… Lara & Chorus, 4- Na jaane tum kyuun meri… Lara, 5- Saat samandar paar hanse re…Lara.
Of the entire lot, Kabhi toh aa, Arre koii aao rii, Raja pyare mat karo were the most popular songs, that still make the rounds of farmaiishi programmes.
